Kenny Van Hummel of the Androni team won the sixth stage of the Tour Of Langkawi in Malayasia.

The longest stage of the race at 199.1km from from Malacca to Pontian, saw all 120 riders left in the race sign on.

Natnael Berhane (Europcar), Carlos Alzate (Uhc) and Jonathan Monsalve (yellow Fluo), attacked when the flag dropped but were caught just before the five kilometre mark and there were no further successful attacks until after Anuar Manan had taken the first sprint of the day with 43.1kms gone.

With still no-one able to escape the clutches of the peloton, Saiful (Tsg) took the points on the King of The Mountains Climb after 57.1kms.

Twenty kilometres later and we did have an attacker in Elchin Asadov of the Synergy Baku team who shot away and was 4.10 clear after 90 kilometres.

Asadov took the second King Of The Mountains climb, the category four Parit Yaani but KOM leader Irishman Matt Brammeier took the second set of points to increase his lead in the competition.

The second sprint of the day was next and Blue jersey wearing Thomas Rabou attacked from the peloton in order to grab some points at the sprint in Yong Peng.

Asadov decided his work for the day was done and sat up and allowed Rabou, Sheppard and Ni to pass him and take over the front running duties.

They bullt up a lead of 2.40 but over a minute was knocked off this by the peloton as Rabou took the third sprint of the day after 156.1kms.

This trio stayed away for another twenty two kilometres before deciding enough was enough and it was better to let the sprinters have their day.

There was a couple of crashes but going into the final stages, Colombia, Belkin and Tinkoff Saxo were controlling matters on the front.

However, no-one was paying attention to Kenny Van Hummel of the Androni team and he got away to win in 4.29.46, beating Kruopis,  Hanson, Forster, Kolar, Chicchi, Guardini, Reguig, Lamoisson and  Manan.

Mirsamad Pourseyedigolakhour of the Tabriz Petrochemical Team retains the yellow jersey with an eight seconds advantage over Merhawi Kudus of MTN Qhubeka.

Rabou leads the Sprints competition by a point from Aidis Kruopis, Matt Brammeier leads the King Of The Mountains competition by three points and MTN - Qhubeka lead the Team Classification going into stage seven.
