Tony Martin Wins Tour Of Belgium Time Trial

Tony Martin of Omega Pharma Quick Step took control of the Baloise Tour Of Belgium with victory in the individual time trial.

The riders took on a 16.7km course which started and finished in Diksmuide. 

Kevin Peeters of Vastgoedservice was first down the ramp and he set the first time to beat of 22.57

That time was soon beaten as Wellems went through in 22.00 with British rider Andy Fenn nine seconds back.

Martin Elmiger of IAM Cycling was the first to smash the twenty two minute mark coming in at 21.06 and then Belkin's Robert Wagner finished in 20.49.

That was until Silvan Dillier of BMC flew home twenty seconds quicker in 20.27 and then IAM Cycling's Sylvain Chavanel finished in 20.09.

Enter stage favourite Tony Martin of Omega Pharma Quick Step and the German was in fine form, setting a time of 19.43.

That was not beaten and Martin took the victory and the overall lead in the race.
