Third Place For Brit In Cyclo Cross World Cup

Britain's Nikki Harris (Young Telenet-Fidea) finished third in the Women's World Cyclo Cross Cup which was staged for the first time in Britain.

A crowd reported to be around the ten thousand mark in Milton Keynes saw Belgian Sanne Cant (Enertherm-BKCP) just beat Katherine Compton (Trek Cyclocross Collective) in a time of 45.26 after passing her in the final few metres in a race the pair had dominated.

Harris rode superbly well finishing on the podium in third, some thirty two seconds down on the front two and eight seconds ahead of her team mate Ellen Van Loy.

Britain's Helen Wyman was eighth with Gabriella Durrin 19th.

The next round is in Namur on Sunday December 21st.
