Nizzolo Wins Eneco Tour Fifth Stage

Radioshack's Giacomo Nizzolo won the Eneco Tour fifth stage this afternoon.

A pan flat day took the riders without John Degenklob from Hoogerheide in Holland to Aalter in Belgium on a 184.6km stage.

FDJ's Michael Delarge took the opening sprint and then left Laurens De Vreese, De Wilde and Murayev some four minutes and twelve seconds clear of the peloton which contained race leader Tom Boonen with 74kms to go.

Laurens De Vreese took the Primus sprint adding fourteen points to take him up to 32 points into the race just before the 50kms to go mark and added three more points when he was first over the intermediate sprint.

With 28kms to go and the town of Aalter in sight, De Wild dropped back into the peloton which was 45 seconds back.

Two kilometres later, De Vreese and then Murayev were caught.

Jeremy Hunt brought his Team Sky team-mates up to the front along with Argos Shimano and Garmin.

Theo Boss crashed due to a touch of wheels with four kilometres to go. BMC and Saxo Bank attacked.just before a left turn and the flam rouge.

Riders were all over the road but it was Radioshack's Giacomo Nizzolo who won in a time of 4.10.20 just beating Jurgen Roelandts.

Tom Boonen was fifth and keeps the leaders jersey going into tomorrow's time trial
