Radio Shack's Levi Leipheimer won the seventh stage of the AMGEM Tour Of California.

Stage seven was from Claremont to Mount Baldy and saw Britain's Ben Swift in an early break which went after seven miles.

Swift who won the second stage, got dropped by a group which included George Hincapie and Ryder Hesdajal.

With the break having a 1.50 lead, Francesco Bellotti took the sprint at Glendora.whilst John Patrick McCarty took the both the King Of The Mountain competitions.

There were about forty riders left in the main field out of the 130 which started the day as we passed the 20kms to go kite.

McCarty and Ben King who had been working to get race leader Chris Horner and second placed Levi Leipheimer up the 6,400ft mountain slipped out of the field along with Oscar Freire.

Ryder Hesjedal (Team Garmin-Cervelo), George Hincapie (BMC Racing Team) (pictured below), Francesco Bellotti (Liquigas-Cannondale), Alexander Efimkin (Team Type 1), and Rob Britton (Bissell Cycling), kept the pressure on at the front.as the yellow jersey group swept up anyone who could not keep up.

Alexander Efimkin got away for four kilometres but was caught with less than 3kms to go. Thanks to some great work from Matty Busche, Levi Leipheimer and Chris Horner headed for the summit whilst Andy Schleck struggled a bit further down the road.

The Radio Shack duo who both live in California kept going and rode over the line together in the Mt Baldy car park in a time of 3hr 33 mins and 1 second with Ten Dam third, some 43 seconds back

Horner (pictured below) as you would expect stays in the leaders jersey, some 36 seconds ahead of Leipheimer and 2.45 ahead of Tom Danielson.

You can see the final stage from Santa Clarita to Thousand Oaks tomorrow (Sunday) on ITV 4 with commentary from our friends Phil Liggett and Paul Sherwen (pictured above).
