Kittel Takes Opening Polish Stage

Marcel Kittel won the opening first stage in the Tour of Poland.

The young German who rides for Skil-Shimano rider won a bunch sprint  at the end of a 101.5km stage from Pruszków to Warsaw ahead of Alexander Kristoff (BMC), Francesco Chicchi (Quick Step) and Heinrich Haussler (Garmin-Cervélo). 

Omega Pharma Lotto's Brit Adam Blythe finished tenth, with Ian Stannard 18th, Peter Kennaugh 55th, Chris Froome was 112th and Steve Cummings was 132nd.

Stage two is 162km long and from Częstochowa to Dąbrowa Górnicza.
