Last updated : 29 July 2011 By Kev Monks

Mark Cavendish has said that he wants to be amongst the greats of cycling and is determined not to have any regrets.

Cavendish who has twenty wins in the Tour De France since 2008, said in an interview run by the Daily Record: "I want to add my name in the book of cycling greats next to Eddy Merckx, Bernard Hinault and Lance Armstrong.

"I want to become world champion in Copenhagen and then set myself other targets. I don't have limits.

"Too many riders are happy to win a race and then spend their time looking back. I will never be like that.

"Regrets keep me up at night so I do everything not to have them.

"I become angry if I have a feeling of failure, the feeling of having wasted an opportunity.

"Defeats let you achieve perfection. I analyse mistakes and look at everything again on video.

"I have lost very few times in three years. I must have made only around five mistakes - and never two the same."
