Rabobank's Robert Gesink won the Tour Of California Stage 7 today.

Stage seven was from Ontario to Mount Baldy and saw more retirements before a fifteen man break went away.

Included in that break were Jens Voigt and Chris Horner and Horner who won the race last year stayed away with Darwin Atapuma.

Atapuma won the second King Of The Mountain Climb and was away after the finish line was oked following a brush fire at the finish line on Mt Baldy.

BMC and Rabobank were leading the chase with Rob Gesink and Tom Danielson trying to get up to the front two with 4.4kms left.

The Colombian Atapuma left Horner and went for glory. Gesink joined Horner just as the race passed a naked male amid the characters who have become a feature of this race.

Gesink, who was after the leaders gold jersey, had Atapuma in his sights and caught him with six hundred metres to go.

There were big crowds to see a sprint and it was Robert Gesink who won in a time of 3.37.10 ahead of Atapuma and Duarte.

Gesink took the leaders jersey by 46 seconds from David Zabriskie.

Tomorrow's final stage is 68.5km from Beverley Hills to Los Angeles.
