Genechten Wins Tour De Wallonie Stage Four

Jonas Van Genetchen has won the fourth stage of Tour De Wallonie in Belgium.

The fourth stage which saw Etixx Quick Step's Niki Terpstra with a lead of sixteen seconds, was a 164.6km stage from Waterloo to Quaregnon.

Eighty four riders started the stage of which four in Tosh Van Der Sande, Antonini, Cousin and Delfosse were able to escape and form a break which was 3.20 ahead when Delfosse took the first sprint of the day after twenty five kilometres.

The gap briefly went out to 3.40 but stood at 2.40 with fifty kilometres have been raced for.

Delfosse took the second sprint and with eighty kilometres left, the four out front were 3.20 ahead of the peloton before Delfosse took the third sprint to put him in the lead of the sprints competition and the points competition.

Into the final forty kilometres and the quartet were still 3.20 clear.

With eight kilometres to go, the peloton brought them back and Stage Three winner Philippe Gilbert tried to get away but was brought back and it was Jonas Van Genetchen who took the win.
