Frank Wins Bayern Rundfahrt Stage Two

Mathias Frank of IAM Cycling has taken victory on the second stage of the Bayern Rundfahrt.

The riders with Heinrich Haussler in the leaders jersey, took on a second stage from Freilassing to Reit im Winkl Winklmoos-Alm.

There was an early attack on this 164.7km stage from AG2R's Biel Kadri, Ireland's Sam Bennett of Team Net App, Christian Meier of Orica Greenedge and Antony Delaplace of Bretagne.

They were 3.40 clear before Bennett took the first sprint and 2.45 ahead when the Irishman took the second sprint after 55kms.

Onto the first King Of The Mountains climb and the gap came back down to 2.45 from 3.35 and by the time, Meier crested the summit, the gap was down to just fifty seconds.

The four leaders were caught by a chasing group of twenty one riders but Meier was still able to take the second climb followed by Kern and Vichoy.

Pinot took the third sprint as the fonrt group which was now down to  fifteen riders held off the challenge of AG2R and Team Sky.

Gasteur went solo and then Mathias Frank of IAM Cycling attacked and rode away to take the win ahead of Pinot and Konig, followed by Bardet, Tschopp, Geraint Thomas, B Feillu, Sepulveda, Kiryienka and Gastauer.
