Dowsett To Go For Hour Record Attempt On Saturday

Alex Dowsett will attempt the hour record on Saturday in Manchester.

The Movistar rider, who has also batted with severe haemophilia and who had to postpone his first attempt at breaking his collarbone, will take to the track to try and beat Rohan Dennis's distance of 52.491 kilometres set in Switzerland on February 8th.

Thomas Decker and Gustaf Larsson have both failed to beat the time set by the Australian BMC rider who bettered the distance acheieved by first Jens Voigt and then Mattias Brandle of IAM Cycling.

The attempt for which Dowsett from Essex has been preparing for in a wind tunnel in Brackley at the Mercedes AMG Petronas headquarters, takes place at the Manchester Velodrome and is being shown live on Eurosport 2 at 12.45pm.
