Cummings Takes Final Tour Of Beijing Stage

Tony Martin won the Tour of Beijing but a great ride from The Wirral's Stave Cummings saw the Brit win the final stage 

The last stage of this race was 182.5kms long and from Chang Ping Stadium to Ping Gu Centenary Square.

Today's main esacaper was BMC's Brit Steve Cummings (pictured below) who was still out front with Garmin's Ryder Hesjesdal with 20 kms to go.

They were persued by a big chasing group which included Ireland's Dan Martin who won the King Of The Mountains wearer going into this final stage but were still 23 seconds clear with 4kms to go.

In sight of the finish line, Cummings shot away from Hesjesdal to take his second win of the year and win in a time of 4.05.08.

Hesjedal was second with Team Sky's Edvald Boason Hagen third to give him third place on the peloton overall.

Race Leader Tony Martin (pictured below) was safely in the pack to win the race by forty seconds from Gavazzi, and fifty seconds from Boason-Hagen and Dan Martin.
