Russ Cowley has said that he was pleased to have made 850 appearances for Coventry Blaze.
Cowley played in the defeat at Nottingham Panthers on Sunday night and told the Blaze website: "It is a long time and something I am proud of. I have loved every minute of my time here through all the highs and lows.
"I am frustrated because the team lost but I have received a lot of nice messages from people and it is always nice to reach certain milestones.
"But my focus and the team's focus right now is all about making the play-offs and we need to start picking up some points."
