Chicci Win The Tour Of Langkwai

Francesco Chicci won the Tour Of Langkwai.

One hundred and eleven riders started the final 114.8km stage from Tasik Kenyir to Kuala Terengganu and six were involved in the first attack following the dropping of the flag at kilometre zero.

Rosa (Androni), Russom (Mtn), Sharul (Tsg), Loh Sea Keong. (OCBC), Nakajima (Aisan) and Rauf Nur Misbah (Malaysia). were the ones to get away and they had built up a two minute lead after the first hour of racing.

The escapers dropped Nakajima by the time they reached the first sprint of the day which Ruaf won ahead of Rosa.

Both riders decided that they would attemp a break and left the other three and moved two minutes ahead of the peloton.

But as the duo reached the first of six circuits at Kuala Terengganu, Diego Rosa dropped Rauf.

With four laps to go, Rosa was 1.25 ahead of the peloton, enough to see him take the second sprint of the day.

However, at the 92kms mark, Rosa sat up and was engulfed by the peloton who were vying for the final sprint of the day which Nathan Haas won.

Bunch sprints have been a feature of this race and there was one which Francesco Chicci won ahead of Rico Rogers and Graeme Brown give him the Italian the race victory.
