Bryan Coquard Wins Tour De Picardie Second Stage

Bryan Coquard of the Europcar Team won the second stage of the Tour Of Picardie in France.

Coquard took the final sprint beating first stage winner Marcel Kittel and Brit Andy Fenn in a 171km stage from Oisemont to Bailleul-sur-Thérain to win in a time of 4.06.11.

AG2R'S Sebastian Minard was out in front for most of the day, taking the first mountain climb at Côte de Montagne-Fayel after 21kms, the first sprint at Quinquempoix after 100.5kms, finishing second in the second mountains climb at Côte de la Neuvile-en-Hez after 131kms and winning the sprint at Bailleul-sur-Therain after 144.5kms to be the most combative rider of the day.

Coquard's victory in the stage means that he now leads the race going into the final stage from Argo Shimano's Marcel Kittel. The pair are ten seconds ahead of Minard and twelve seconds ahead of Omega Pharma Quick Step's Andy Fenn.
