Janez Brajkovic (Astana) won the third stage of the Volta A Catalunya this afternoon.

Stage three was due to have been the longest stage of the race at 210.9km and from La Vall d'en Bas to Port-Ainé. However, with Port-Ainé deemed unpassable by race organisers due to snow, the race was reduced to 155km and ending ten kilometres from the summit of Porto Canto, which was cleared by race organisers using a snow plough..

At the halfway stage the escapers had got nearly ten minutes clear..

However, it was Astana's Janez Brajkovic who was first over the line to claim victory ahead of Michal Golas (Pol) Omega Pharma - QuickStep
and Mikael Cherel (Fra) AG2R La Mondiale
