Arnaud Demare Wins Tour De Picardie

FDJ's Arnaud Demare won the Tour Of Picardie.

The final stage was a stage from Cap´Aisne-Chamouille to Bray-sur-Somme.

Verhelst (Cofidis) and Tronet (BigMat) had the early lead but it was Phillipe Gilbert who took the la côte de Cessières after twenty six kilometres.

A group of Reza , who was celebrating his 26th birthday, Chainel, Joeaar, Kreder, Campenaerts, Stenuit and Siskevicius formed with Reza taking the sprint after 95kms.

With seventeen kilometres left, Joeaar went away and stayed until four kilometres to go when he was caught by Gilbert and the teams were able to bring their main men to the fore for the sprint.

Included in that sprint was race leader Arnaud Demare of FDJ and the Frenchman won the stage ahead of Ramon Sinkeldam, Gianni Meersman and Phillipe Gilbert and the overall victory.
