Michael Albasini made it two out of two with victory in the second stage of the Tour Of Romandie in Switzerland.

Martin Kohler (BMC Racing) and Pirim Lang (IAM Cycling) got away early and were allowed to get 13.10 before the peloton led by Omega Pharma Quick Step started to bring them under control.

The duo were still clear with 34kms to go as the race went around the shores of Lake Geneva.

Belkin and Katusha joined the chase before Nicholas Roche lept out of the peloton in a bid to catch the two escapers.

Inside the final three kilometres, Kohler and Pirim were caught and Tony Martin and Michal Kwiatkowski, attacked.

Kwiatkowski tried to sprint in the rain but Michael Albasini (Orica-GreenEdge) got past him to take victory in 4.12.22 ahead of Hurel, Nizzolo, Tsatevitch, Kwiatkowski, Van der Sande, Navardauskas, Wyss and Team Sky's Chris Froome.

Michael Albasini now leads the race by five seconds from Michal Kwiatkowski.
