Adam Yates of Orica Green Edge won the 50th Tour Of Turkey with a five second win after Mark Cavendish, who won the Green Jersey took the final stage.

A final 121km stage around Istanbul, saw the 21 year from Bury with a lead of a second ahead of Rein Taramae and on a glorious day, there was plenty of attacks before a break of Conti, Colonna, Aramendia, Kiendys, Bakirci, Reguigui & Megias formed.

They were never allowed to get more than thirty seconds clear and with fourteen seconds to go, Colonna, Aramendia and Kiendys, were left up front with a sixteen second lead.

That was wiped out inside the final ten kilometres and Orica Green Edge and then Lotto Belisol led the sprint. But there was Mark Cavendish who jumped off the train of Steegmans and Petacchi to win his fourth stage of this race in 2.35.00 ahead of Viviani and Guardini.

Adam Yates finished in the front group and with Taramae, some four seconds back, it was a great day for British riders as Yates won the race overall by four seconds.

Cavendish said to Matt Rendall. "They delivered me perfectly. I thought I would have to go 250 to the finish line. My strength is getting the jump and I let the pressure die off so I could get the kick and I am really happy with the win which puts me in good stead for the rest of the season."
