Day three of the Music Against Racism gig at the Albany Club in Earlsdon saw Birmingham band The Beat make a rare appearance in Coventry.

21 Bands over the weekend included a solo set from Roddy Radiation and tonight, new Coventry talent Carly Ryder was amongst those who played before Ranking Roger and The Beat took to the stage.

Their first gig in Coventry since possibly the 1980's, started with a new song "Dangerous" but many of their hits including "Too Nice To Talk To", Hands Off, "Best Friend" and "Ranking Full Stop" had a packed venue skanking away.

More recent stuff including the tribute to Joe Strummer "Rock The Casbah" were well received by the Coventry public who enjoyed an excellent performance.
