Today, the Lord Mayor Jack Harrison MBE.JP along with the High Commissioner for St Vincent & The Grenadines Mr Cenio Lewis KCMG,Soul Singer Ray King and Selecter's Noel Davies unveiled the 7th 2-Tone @ 30 plaque at the former Holyhead Youth Club site now Artspace (Lower Holyhead Rd).

Soul singer Ray King, was the man who ran the Holyhead Youth Club in the late 70's, it was Ray that helped to create the 2 Tone movement, indeed as Specials guitarist Lynval Golding once said , "No Ray King, No Two Tone". Ray was born in St Vincent, and still has close ties with the island. The Holyhead Youth Club is the spiritual roots of the 2 Tone movement, and where many of the key players first met.

The plaque is sponsored by the Harris Sign Group who have made all the Two Tone@ 30 plaques.

Artspace have the site in regular use during the week and you can find out more about them via their site at www.coventry-artspace.co.uk
