Late Goal Gives City U23's The Win

Coventry City U23's worked hard and beat  Ipswich Town in a tight affair 2-1.
 
Nicky Eaden was able to field a very strong side including Dominic Hyam, Ben Stevenson Dion Kelly-Evans and Kwame Thomas for this clash which saw City who had dropped to second in the table taking on Ipswich ego went into the game top of the league.
 
 
With Richard Money, Craig Reid, and Terry Conroy, amongst the scouts watching on, Ponticelli won City a sixth minute corner. That was cleared and when the ball came back thanks to a bad kick from the keeper, Jordan Ponticelli lashed it into the net.
 
Corey Addai made a great save with his legs from Folami before Leahy headed a 13th minute free kick from Stevenson at the keeper.
 
With Tom Bayliss battling in midfield, City continued to press after McKendry had wasted a free kick for the visitors.
 
Ponticelli fired over in the 22nd minute, McKendry drove at Addai and Kwame Thomas blasted over before Addai pulled off a tremendous diving save from a Webster header following a corner.
 
Chris Camwell put over some cracking crosses and worked hard for City whose defence continued to block McKendry and Patterson.
 
Jordan Ponticelli and Dion Kelly-Evans were replaced at the break and two minutes in, Ipswich got down the left and the ball came over for Monty Patterson, wearing the number 11 to head into an empty net.
 
Ipswich started to get on top before Stevenson and Camwell were able to play the ball they wanted to.
 
Morris wasted a good chance for the visitors and another in the 65th minute in between aSayoud shot that was blocked.
 
Addai made two good saves and one brilliant one and another good one to concede a 70th minute corner.
 
Hickman played in Kyle Finn for a 73rd minute shot which flew over the bar before Ipswich took off McKendry who had been impressive throughout.
 
Chris Camwell drove wide from a corner. Ipswich went up the far end at AHC and won one with Addai making a good grab.
 
Sayoud then set up Stevenson for a shot which was deflected over for a corner with eight minutes left.
 
Ben Stevenson was replaced for the last few minutes of a game which saw Hickman"s persistence earn City an 88th minute corner 
 
In stoppage time, City took the win, when a Hickman ball came over, Thomas headed on and there was Bilal Sayoud at the far post to tap home for the victory.
