Coventry City U18's went down to a 2-1 defeat to second placed Reading.

The Sky Blues had hardly touched the ball when Reading put together a good move and Craig Tanner sent a terrific shot from the edge of the area that flew  high into the net with less than two minutes gone.

City then lost defender Joe Henderson to an injury but tried to get back in the game with efforts from Clarke-Harris and Ben Maund.

The top two sides in the division, both looked to fashion chances and in the 35th minute, City drew level thanks to Josh Ruffels sending a low free kick  into the net from twenty yards.

The Sky Blues were now  well on top with every player giving their all but in stoppage time,  Craig Tanner was allowed to get in a  drive that beat Burge and had the Royals ahead at the break.

Jonson Clarke-Harris got two shots early on before the impressive Tanner forced Lee Burge into action.

City made a double change in a game where no quarter was given.

Clarke-Harris continued to torment the visiting defence but the Sky Blues could not stop Reading from taking the win.
