BY ROAD

By Car
From M25 take Junction 29 and follow the A127 to Southend. Continue towards the town centre, through the lights near to the Bell Pub. At the next roundabout turn right (3rd turning), continuing on the A127. The ground is on the right just past the next traffic lights.

Car Parking

There is very limited street parking around Roots Hall on matchdays and we would advise caution with regards to parking restrictions enforced by the authorities.

There is admittance at present for matchday parking at the ground. Take care where you park in the local streets.

There is parking availability however at the Civic Centre on Victoria Avenue Southend-on-Sea Essex SS2 6ER at the following times;-

Mon to Sat – 9 am to 6 pm
Sun – 11 am to 5 pm

Cost is:

Up to an hour - £1.00
Up to 2 hours - £1.60
Up to 3 hours - £2.30
Up to 4 hours - £4.00
Up to 5 hours - £5.00
Up to 6 hours - £6.00
Over 6 hours - £10.00

And you can pay in 10p, 20p, 50p, £1 and £2 coins

It is free after 6 pm Mon to Sat, and 5 pm on Sunday

There is also matchday parking at the Southend High School on Prittlewell Close SS0 0RG and the price is £5 per car.

Both of these car parking areas are only five minutes walk from the ground.

By Train

Coventry City supporters travelling to the League One game at Southend United are advised that a bus replacement service is in operation for part of the journey.

For Saturday October 20th and Sunday October 21st, Engineering work is taking place between Shenfield and Southminster / Southend Victoria, closing all lines.

Buses will replace trains between Shenfield and Southminster, and also between Shenfield and Southend Victoria.

Therefore, you are advised to allow extra time for your journey to and from the game.

The closest station to the ground is Prittlewell, about a five minute walk away. It is served by trains from London Liverpool Street. As you exit the station turn right, you will then come to a crossroads with traffic lights. On your right is the 'Fish House', fish and chip shop. Pass this and turn right. Walk about 100 yards and the ground is tucked away on your left.

If you happen to end up at Southend Central station (served by trains from London Fenchurch Street), you're about a 25 minute walk from the ground. The main bus station is close to Southend Central, and therefore it may be ideal to get a bus up to the ground, rather than walking.

By Bus:
The Arrivia bus numbers 7, 8, 9, and 29 buses all stop right outside Roots Hall Football Ground whilst the First Bus numbers 20, 21 and 25 also arrive at the stadium.
