Devon Kelly Evans rounded off an excellent few days when he hit the winner for Coventry City U21's against Aston Villa.

The Sky Blues fielded first teamers John Fleck and Shaun Miller as well as a number of the team who had played well at Bristol Rovers on Friday night and were soon creating changes in this behind closed doors game at Ryton.

Miller had two efforts go wide and there was one for Aaron Phillips in the opening twenty five minutes before Villa hit the post through a Drennan free kick.

Thomas and Miller created more chances at the start of the second half as City looked for the opening goal.

Ryan Haynes went close in the 57th minute before substitute Jordan Shipley hit a post some sixteen minutes later.

There was ten minutes left when City took the lead and it came from Devon Kelly Evans. The midfielder, who had already played forty five minutes for City U18's against Leicester City this morning, smashed the ball into the net after George Thomas had gone to ground.

Kelly Evans, who made his first team debut in the defeat at Stevenage on Saturday, might have had a second in the 85th minute but he curled his effort wide and the game finished in a 1-0 win for City.
