Coventry City U21's recorded their second straight victory with a 2-0 win over Bristol City.‎
City who won their first game of the season last week at QPR took a Bristol City side which had lost four out of their last six matches.

City, who had Brian Reid doing the warm up,  fielded a strong team which included Marcus Tudgay, Conor Thomas, Jordan Clarke and Mo Coulibaly.‎

Both sides started brightly on a wet afternoon at Liberty Way, Nuneaton, watched by a number of first team players, sat among the City support and scouts, whilst Steven Pressley and Neil Macfarlane watched from the hospitality area.

Ge‎orge Thomas started a move in the 12th minute which saw him pick out Kelly-Evans, who then played in Coulibaly for a shot under pressure which went just wide of Dave Richard's left hand post.

Coulibaly was making a number of good runs as City won two16th minute corners and then the Frenchman got into the area and was brought down for a 20th minute penalty that Marcus Tudgay confidently stroked into the net.

Bristol City won two 24th minute corners which ended with Lee Burge catching a back header and Daniels had a shot saved.

After play was held up for a facial injury to Lewis Hall.‎ Daniels combined to set up George Thomas for a shot which Richards was able to get down to and Matt Mattis deflected a free kick onto Burge's left hand post.

In the 52nd minute, Coulibaly got down the left and laid off a perfect ball for George Thomas to slot home a second goal from six yards.

This was encouraging stuff from the team managed by Darren Murray in shorts and white ankle socks with Tudgay having a 54th minute effort saved and Richards having to palm away a Shipley cross.

‎Mattis drove wide as did Daniels in the 63rd minute before a City corner came to nothing.

Cian Harries was excellent in defence for City who were led at the back by Jordan Clarke.

For the final fifteen minutes, Ben Stevenson came on for Conor Thomas ‎and four minutes later, Kyle Spence came on for Jordan Shipley who had worked well on the left for City.

Marcus Tudgay wasted a good chance with five minutes left when he fired tamely at the keeper but it mattered not as the Sky Blues took another welcome victory.
