MATCH OFFICIALS
The currently appointed referee for Coventry City's Championship game against West Ham United on Saturday is Keith Stroud.

Mr Stroud got into refereeing after running the line for his parks team. The referee on one of these games approached him after the game complimenting him on his performance as an assistant referee and gave him  details of the up and coming referee course to consider which he duly attended.

Mr Stroud, an official who believes that a smile on occasions helps to diffuse situations and helps to encourage positive interaction from referee to player/coaching staff, was appointed to the FIFA International Assistant Referees list in 2004 and joined the Select Group Referees list in 2007.

This will be his third visit to the Ricoh Arena in two seasons. His last visit was the 1-0 defeat to Swansea in January

Previous City game's are the 3-2 home defeat to Leeds in November 2010, the 1-0 win at Plymouth Argyle in December 2009 and previous City matches in which he has refereed are: the 0-0 home draw with West Brom in October 2009, the 1-1 draw at QPR in January 2009, the 2-0 home win against Leicester in February 2008, the 0-2 home defeat to Palace on Boxing Day 2007, the 0-1 defeat at Wolves in October 2007, the 0-0 at Colchester in March 2007 and the 2-0 home win against Sheffield United in March 2006.

His assistants are Andy Hendley from Birmingham and Tim Wood from Gloucestershire. The Fourth Official is Neil Radford from Worcester.

BETTING TIPS
Coventry City Tips
It’s been a difficult time for Coventry City in recent weeks with the 4-2 defeat against Southampton making it five games for the Sky Blues without a win. It doesn’t get much easier for Andy Thorn’s charges either with second placed West Ham the next to visit the Ricoh Arena and Sam Allardyce’s men are 3/4 favourites (William Hill, 12bet) to pick up the three points with the hosts priced at 9/2 with Bet365 to win.

Recommended betting tip: Over 2.5 Goals @ 109/100

The last time we went with this tip we were successful and high scoring matches have become a common occurrence for the Sky Blues in recent weeks with three of the last four matches seeing three or more goals scored. The results of the last three Coventry v West Ham encounters also support this bet with all of them seeing over 2.5 goals scored, including Coventry’s last win over the Hammers back in 2004. A repeat 2-1 scoreline is priced at 17/1 with 188BET for this weekend.
