Woakes Wrecks Worcestershire

Warwickshire bowler Chris Woakes wreeked havoc amongst the Worcestershire batsman taking seven wickets today on Day Three of the County Championship game at Edgbaston.

The day started with Sreesanth running out Moore before Woakes started to strike.

Mitchell who had made 30 was the first to fall to the 20 year old. The right arm medium bowler then took three wickets in the space of twenty runs. First he bowled Smith and then Ian Bell caught Ali and Davies from his bowling.

Shanthakumaran Sreesanth took the wicket of Andrew whilst Naqaash Sarosh Tahir chipped in with wickets of Kervezee and Jones.

Boyd Rankine bowled Imran Arif to see Worcestershire 154 all out in 48.1 overs.

The follow on was enforced and Worcestershire reached 91 before Woakes had Mitchell caught by Jon Trott for 25.

Boyd Rankine bowled the next over which was the 29th and with his second ball, he had Stephen Moore who had made 63 caught by Ian Bell.

Woakes had the 30th over and took his seventh wicket of the day when Smith caught by Troughton for a golden duck.

At stumps, Worecestershire were 123-3,some 166 runs behind.

In the first one day international, Australia beat England by four runs.
