Coventry kid Ian Bell made his first test century for England for over a year when he made 110 in the second innings of England's Third Test with New Zealand in Napier.

After bowling the home side out for 168, England got stronger and stronger on a batting wicket.

Bell passed through the fifty mark from only eighty four balls and went on to complete a century before being caught off the bowling of former Warwickshire bowler Daniel Vetori for 110.

With Andrew Strauss 173 not out at the close, England finished the day 501 runs ahead on 416-5. Warwickshire's Tim Ambrose who had taken two catches behind the stumps finished 28 not out.
