Three Lads Who Shook Cov

Tonight, the Ricoh Arena reverberated to chants of "Sky Blue Army" and the Sky Blue Song, however, it was not to welcome the Sky Blues onto the pitch for a vital home game, it was in the Jaguar Exhibition Hall to welcome Coventry band The Enemy on stage.

Close to eight thousand Coventrians of all ages flooded into the Hall like a raging torrent to dance and sing their way through a set lasting just over an hour.

This was the first of two nights that The Enemy are playing in Cov with lead singer Tom Clark admitted that he was so proud to be playing in Coventry.

As the start time of 9.15 drew closer, the beer flowed (and was thrown) as the atmosphere increased to near manic proportions when the trio entered the stage.

Playing much of their number one album "We'll Live And Die In These Towns", Tom,Andy and Liam included the massively popular anthems "Pressure", "40 Days And 40 Nights","Away From Here" and finished with You're Not Alone" after a highly acceptable version of the Pistols classic "God Save The Queen".

Sunday night promises to be another great night and those with tickets are likely to be whipped into an even bigger frenzy as the Neville Staples Band, who were superb in Birmingham on Friday night on their tour with The New English Beat, are one of the support acts.

You can also hear a one hour special about The Enemy on Kerrang Radio at 11pm tonight.
