Sphinx Reserves In Vase Final Win

Coventry Sphinx Reserves lifted the Midland Combination Challenge Vase after a 3-0 victory in the Final against Enville Athletic.

Lee Knibbs side delighted the Sphinx supporters in the crowd at Kings Norton when Ross Knight turned inside the area to score in the 26th minute.

Twelve minutes later, it was two when Tom Haywood lashed the ball into the net after a knock down from six yards.



On the stroke of half-time, Chris McGowan wrapped up the match when his corner curled in past the keeper.


Chances were few and far between in a second half noted for Enville having two players dismissed. Jamie Rose saw red for kicking out in the 81st minute and four minutes into stoppage time, Chris Hill was sent off for a head butt.

Sphinx Reserves will contest the Jack Mould Trophy Final against Wernley at Coleshill Town on Saturday.
