Coventry Sphinx's first ever game in the Birmingham Senior Cup ended in defeat at Racing Club Warwick.

Paul Charnley's side enjoyed plenty of possession in the first period winning five corners compared to Warwick's three.

But in the 48th minute, Matt Blair, son of former Sky Blue Andy, got a shot which took a deflection past Sphinx keeper Ashley Hooker.

Subsitute Craig Martin hit the bar and in the 66th minute, Callum Woodward rounded Damon Beckford Qualley only to hit the post.

In the final minute, Ryan Robbins raced through to slip the ball into the net and put Warwick into the second round.

Stratford are also out of the Birmingham Senior Cup beaten 5-0 at Redditch. Nuneaton Borough lost 3-0 to Wolves at Liberty Way.

Craig Reid hit his first goal for Cheltenham and set up the other two in a 3-1 Johnsons Paints win at Swindon whilst Colin Cameron scored for MK Dons in a 3-1 win against Peterborough.

Rugby Town drew 0-0 at Hitchin Town.

Tom Muldoon scored for Coventry Copsewood in a 4-1 home defeat by Loughborough University but Southam beat Nuneaton Griff 3-2.
