Warwickshire County Cricket Club set new records aplenty on the second day of their LV County Championship game at Worcester.

The Bears continued from their overnight score of 385-5 with Tim Ambrose passing his previous career best score of 149. Both the wicket keeper and Heath Streak took the side past the 500 run mark at lunch.

The previous highest Warwickshire total at New Road of 566 was easily passed as the pair recorded a new highest sixth wicket stand of 226, a record which had stood since 1938 when Solanki finally had Heath Streak caught for 66.

Tim Ambrose batted on and was not out on a magnificent 251 when Darren Maddy decided to declare at 610-6.

Worcestershire in reply were 116-2 at the close.
