Coventry Blaze were beaten 4-1 in the second leg of the Play-Off Quarter-Finals tonight.

After last night's 3-3 draw at the Sky Dome, the Blaze travelled to Cardiff hopeful of getting through to the Finals weekend in Nottingham.

However, with Owen Fussey serving two minutes in the sin bin for tripping, Cardiff took the lead on 5.05 with a Phil Hill powerplay goal.

The Blaze were level on 6.43 through another powerplay goal which was fired home by Robert Farmer and assisted by Shea Guthrie.

Last night there was only one goal in the second period and today was the same but this time, it was Cardiff who got the goal through Stuart McRae on 34.21.

Stuart McRae hit a third on 49.51 and with a minute and fifteen seconds to go, he grabbed an assist to find Jeff Pierce who scored an empty net goal which gave Cardiff a 4-1 and a 7-4 aggregate victory.

Cardiff will join Hull Stingrays who won 5-2 at Sheffield tonight.
