Coventry City Council have pledged to help Coventry Blaze find a new home in Coventry.

Paul Thompson's team do not want to leave our city to which they moved to eight years ago. However, with crowds increasing along with the team's success, the need for a new home has never been greater.

The Skydome only holds 3,000 and the Blaze are now looking for a much bigger venue in the city and have access to funds for a double rink costing around £10m.

City Councillor Kevin Foster told the CT: "It is a fantastic boost for the City to have the best Ice Hockey team in the country. "Obviously, we are keen to keep them in the city and want to do whatever we can to help them find new facilities and enable them to grow.
