New Signing For Jets

The Coventry Cassidy Jets have pulled off a major signing coup with the capture of Liam and Luke Smith from Premier League rivals the Farnham Fast Lane Knights. The Smith brothers had previously been with the Jets for the 2007 season but left early last year for the Knights who were making their return to the top flight.

Liam, who can play both defensive end and linebacker, enjoyed a solid season with the Jets helping them to a place in Britbowl XXI and an eventual runners up slot in 2007. Luke, a quarterback, missed the 2007 season whilst rehabilitating a nagging knee injury but made a comeback last year with the Knights as they finished third in the BAFL Premier.

When asked about their return to the Jets Luke beamed "It feels good to comeback to such a friendly; welcoming atmosphere". Brother Liam was equally pleased to be back "I'm very excited to play for the Jets again, it's great to back in training and preparing for the season ahead, I think we're going to have a great year, both domestically and in Europe".

Former NFL Europe invitee Liam also enthused about the Jets appointment of Head Coach Jim Roberson "I'm looking forward to working with such an experienced coach, I've seen how much he's helped players improve their game and I know that I can learn a lot from him". When asked what he hopes to achieve this year Smith was forthright in his expectations, "I have high hopes for the season ahead, we're here to win and help build a dynasty".
