Leamington Lose But Bedworth Win

Leamington FC started 2012 with a 2-1 home defeat to Redditch United in a Southern League Premier Division game.

A crowd of 603 at the New Windmill saw Blyth put The Brakes ahead in the 38th minute but Redditch hit back with goals from Ford in the 73rd minute and Osbourne in the first minute of stoppage time.


In the Southern League Central Division, Bedworth United won 2-0 at Daventry Town.

Brehon put Bedworth ahead in the 24th minute before Robertson added a second eight minutes later. 

Rugby Town drew 3-3 at Butlin Road with Woodford United. Goals from Fagan and Kean had Rugby two goals up before the 26th minute. Hawkins pulled one back in the 58th minute only for Fagan to make it 3-1 straight from the restart.

Travers reduced the arrears in the 67th minute and with ten minutes left, Lyburd converted a penalty to earn a share of the spoils.


In the Midland Alliance, Atherstone Town won 3-1 at Heather St John.


In the Midland Combination Division One, Alvis drew 0-0 at Shirley Town.
