Late Defeat For Cov Rugby

Coventry Rugby Club went down to a stoppage time defeat at home to Fylde.

A crowd of 901 at the Butts Park Arena saw Cliff Hodgson kick Coventry in front with a second minute penalty, only for the Lancashire side to go up the other end and run in a try through Brennand which Johnson converted.

In the fourteenth minute, Flyde doubled their points tally when De La Harpe went over and again Johnson converted.

Phil Maynard's team hit back with with a Stevens eighteenth minute try, converted by Hodgson, who kicked a 33rd minute penalty.

Just before the break, Coventry were back in front when Barker ran in a try to see Coventry 18-14 up at half-time.

Macburnie ran in another try for Coventry in the 50th minute but twenty minutes later, Johnson ran in a try which he converted and in the first minute of stoppage time, he kicked a penalty to send Coventry to defeat.
