Warwickshire got off to a good start on the opening day of the Cricket season.

In their opening Division Two County Championship game against also relegated Worcestershire, Warwicks bowled well and with Neil Carter taking 3-38 and John Trott 3-44, the visitors to Edgbaston were all out in their first innings for 249.

Stephen Moore was the only batsman to offer any resistance, making 109 in a four hour knock.

In reply, Warwicks were 39-3 at the close. Michael Powell made 29 of those runs before he was bowled by Magoffin after openers Ian Westwood and Darren Maddy were dismissed.

Play resumes at 11am in the morning.
