Former Coventry Sphinx manager Marcus Law has been appointed manager of Kettering Town, according to his former club Barwell.

Law, has managed Sphinx, Bedworth United, Coventry City and Aston Villa's Academy as well as Barwell where he led the team to promotion from the Midland Alliance into the Evostick League as well a run in the FA Vase which took them to the Semi-Finals.

Barwell made the following statement on their club website: "Marcus has been talking to Kettering Town since a week last Thursday and last night announced that he had agreed to accept the position of manager with immediate effect.

"He will commence his duties there on Monday and Assistant Manager Paul O'Brien will assume the role of Caretaker Manager over the next few games.

We would like to offer our thanks and best wishes to Marcus who has been instrumental in giving Barwell Football Club a platform to move forward to bigger and better things and for guiding the club to the successes that we have experienced over the past three seasons.

Marcus will return to Barwell from time to time so that club members can have a chance to speak to him and Kettering Town have agreed to play a pre season friendly next year which will allow the supporters a chance to bid their farewells to Marcus on a more formal basis."
