The British Superbike championship is the biggest domestic motorsport championship in the world and throughout the 2008 season, Covsupport News Service and Twist 'n' Shout Fanzine will be supporting Cov kid Cal Crutchlow.

Cal, from Wyken, started racing at a young age and his career has gone from strength to strength. His biggest achievement to date was winning the 2006 British Supersport championship.

Last season, he went up into the Superbike class riding for one of the biggest teams in the paddock, Rizla Suzuki and he finished 9th in the championship.

In the winter Cal moved from Suzuki to the full factory HM Plant Honda squad for 2008 replacing 2007 BSB Champion Ryuichi Kiyonari.

The "opening" round of the BSB season was at Brands Hatch, Kent 2 weeks ago. Cal impressed in Free Practice where in the three sessions he finished 4th, 3rd and 2nd. In Qualifying he continued his good form posting the second best time of the session.

Unfortunately due to heavy snow during Saturday night and early Sunday morning the days racing had to be called off and the round has been rescheduled for later on in the year.

This weekend the next round of the championship is taking place at Thruxton, Hampshire and we will be posting Cals results on here on Sunday.
