City Ladies Beat West Brom

In a cracking game today at their Westwood Heath Road home,Coventry City Ladies chalked up their second consecutive home win in a game which was switched from Tipton.

In a high quality match which was a great advert for the ladies' game,Natasha Lynch gave the Sky Blues a 12th minute lead from the penalty spot before a breakaway Albion goal the next minute from A.Hinton brought the visitors back to parity.

However, the Sky Blues were not dispirited and an exquisite chip finish from Robyn James in the 19th minute put them back in front. It was nip and tuck for the rest of the half as the teams went in with a 2-1 score on the board.

A thumping 57th minute volley from Helen Dermody who benefited from a deflection off a defender made it 3-1 but the Baggies were soon back in the game with a 63rd minute penalty from Number 17 (I think it was A.Pritchard). Both sides gave their all but there was no further scoring.
