Coventry Blaze ended their home regular season with a superb 5-4 victory against Belfast Giants.

A power play goal on 2.20 from Barrie Moore had Paul Thompson's side ahead but the 45 Belfast fans had something for their journey to Covenry when first Steve Thornton equalised with a power play goal on 5.10 and then Evan Chevrie netted on 6.04 with Mark Morrison putting Belfast 3-1 up on 7.09.

The second period was The Blaze come back show. Jon Weaver scored on 20.55 before Mathias Soderstrom fired home a power play goal 24.14.

Soderstrom was off the ice for holding when Dan Carlsson went and scored an unassisted short handed goal.

It looked like a Blaze win with Carlyle Lewis having a fine game, but with 23 seconds of the match left, Bobby Robins equalised to send the match into over-time.

it took four minutes and twenty five seconds of over-time to separate the teams and it was Leigh Jamieson who was assisted by Adam Calder who scored to give Blaze the win.

Tomorrow night, The Blaze end their Elite League season with a trip to Newcastle Vipers. Face off is at 5.30pm.
