Blaze Into Final

Coventry Blaze are into the Play-Off Final after a 4-2 victory against Newcastle Vipers.

In front of a large crowd in Nottingham, Blaze were a goal down after 48 seconds in the first period after Derek Campbell's shot slipped past Trevor Koenig.




However,after eight minutes, the Elite League and Knockout Cup winners were level, thanks to top scorer Adam Calder on a power play.

After 17.15, Blaze took the lead through Sylvain Cloutier and just under nine minutes in the second period, added a third on another powerplay through Curtis Huppe.

Nine minutes into the third period, Newcastle reduced the arrears when Rob Wilson beat Koenig. Blaze hit back and Adam Calder scored again to send Blaze into today's final against Sheffield Steelers who beat Cardiff 2-1.

Face off is at 3pm, again at the Nottingham Arena.
