Blaze Hit Panthers For Four

COVENTRY BLAZE 4-0 NOTTINGHAM PANTHERS BY KEV MONKS AND EMIL WIDBORG

Coventry Blaze stay top of the Elite Ice Hockey League with a 4-0 win tonight.

The first period at a packed Sky Dome in Croft Road,Coventry finished without a goal due to two relatively busy net minders.



Blaze,who won 5-2 away at Edinburgh last night,were grateful to Trevor Koenig for some good saves in the second period before Russ Cowley scored 7.05 in,assisted by Danny Stewart on a power play.

Just over a minute had elapsed when Blaze scored again through Jon Weaver again assisted by Stewart.



Another minute followed and Barrie Moore let rip with a shot which flew into the net courtesy of of a third Stewart assist.

With 35.16 gone,Curtis Huppe fired in a fourth. Koenig made some great saves in the third period to wrap up a good victory for Paul Thompson's side.
