Coventry Blaze Ice Hockey Club beat Edinburgh Capitals 6-3 tonight in an Elite League Fixture.

Sixteen fans from Edinburgh made the journey to a very cold Sky Dome which was had a reasonable turn out of Blaze fans, hoping that the two wins last weekend would continue.

Edinburgh arrived in Coventry with only eleven players icing but they took the lead on 2.38 when a rebound fell for Lomax to beat Brett Jaeger in the Coventry goal.

Just over a minute later, the Blaze were level thanks to a solo run from Luke Fulghum saw him fire past Reid, assisted by Owen Fussey.

Four minutes and thirty eight seconds had past when Coventry made the most of a defensive lapse. The Capitals defence stood watching as a shot from Lee, hit an Edinburgh player and Brett Zanon, assisted by Dan Carlson and Sean Selsmer eventually scored.

The fans in the Sky Dome where the plexy glass had frozen, had to wait until the 27th minute for another goal and it was Jeff Smith, who made it 3-1 to Coventry when he found the net, assisted by Selsmer and Zanon.

Smith could not stop Lomax two minutes later as Edinburgh reduced the arrears after the puck fell to Lomax, coming back from Jaeger's pads. Lomax was off balance but still managed to steer the puck into the net.

Three and a half minutes into the third period, Brad Cruickshank hit a fourth for Coventry and on 46.45, Owen Fussey was able to slot home a short handed goal, assisted by Owen and Weaver.

Then the match was wrapped up with a sixth goal from Sean Selsmer on 49.20, assisted by Carlson and Fulghum.

On 50.15, Jaeger made one save but could not control the loose puck and Taylor scored in a game that finished Coventry 6-3 Edinburgh.

The Blaze fly to Scotland on Thursday to play Dundee Stars, then they will fly to Belfast where some of the Blze players will play in the Elite League All Stars V The Boston Bruins on Saturday before its back to Scotland to play at at Edinburgh on Sunday.
