Coventry Blaze won 6-3 tonight at Newcastle Vipers.

Paul Thompson's side were ahead on 4.59 when Jon Weaver scored assisted by Greg Chambers and Adam Calder.

Coventry added a second on 5.43 through Greg Owen and this was followed by goals from Luke Fulghum who scored unassisted on 10.27 and 15.59, Owen fired home his second of the net.

Newcastle came back in the second period with a Dave Longstaff strike on 25.32.

Matus Petricko then reduced the arrears even further with two strikes. The first was a short handed goal on 36.08 and a second coming just over two minutes later.

That saw the Blaze 4-3 up going into the third period and on 46.43, Mathias Soderstrom hit the fifth.

In the dying seconds and with Newcastle having pulled their net minder, Luke Fulghum wrapped up a 6-3 victory for the Blaze.



Sunday sees Challenge Cup action for The Blaze against Cardiff Devils.
