Coventry Bees came from twelve points down to snatch a 48-47 win at Poole.
The Bees travelled to Poole with a full side but failed to win a heat in the opening seven heats. Five of those heats finished as 3-3's and in the other two, Przemyslaw Pawlicki and Maciej Janowski rode for 5-1 wins.
Pawlicki and Vaclav Milik took a 5-1 in a re-run heat eight after Ryan Fisher has been disqualified.
A 3-3 in heat nine had the Bees twelve points down, so Chris Harris took a tactical ride and finished second behind Darcy Ward in a 4-4 which meant that the Bees were still twelve points behind with five heats remaining.
In heat eleven, Kennett Hansen took a tactical ride and along with Hans Andersen, the Bees recorded their first heat win of the meeting with an 8-1 win.
That reduced Poole's lead to five points which stayed at five as heat twelve ended in a 3-3.
Andersen won heat thirteen in a 4-2 for the Bees who had Hansen win the next heat to see the Bees only a point behind going into the final heat.
Darcy Ward was excluded and in the re-run, Andersen got ahead of Pawlicki to give the Bees a 4-2 heat win and a 48-47 win on the night.
