Bees on the brink

Since the takeover of the Brandon stadium by Avtar Sandhu the fortunes of the Bees have taken an upturn where, after a barren 1st year, they have this year secured their 2nd Elite league title in 3 years, along with this years end of season Craven Shield trophy.
The reigning KO cup holding Bees go into tonights 2nd leg of the Knock-Out cup final at Brandon level with Swindon after a 45-45 draw last night.

Top scorer for the Bees was Bomber Harris on 11+1 but the team work shown throughout the season was again in evidence last night with every Bees rider playing their part, with some determined riding and passes made during the night to achieve the scoreline.
But for an amazing 16+1 score from Swindon's Leigh Adams the Bees would have come away with the 1st leg victory.

The 2nd leg at Brandon tonight starts at the usual 8pm and once again a bumper crowd is espected so get there early. The evening will also finish with a firework display. In the final Craven shield leg at Brandon Swindon rode extremely well and won convincingly on the night and very nearly took the trophy, so tonights match once again has the ingredients of a classic, where the winners will take home the trophy.

For the Bees it would be an unprecidented year if they were to take all 3 of the top speedway honours. With 2 trophies already sitting proudly in the Brandon offices the final 15 heats of competitive team speedway lie between the Bees team and that achievement.
