Bees Hammered At Eastborne

Coventry Bees speedway team were hammered 61-30 at Eastbourne Eagles.

On a sunny evening at Arlington, the Bees had Steve Worrall and Stefan Nielsen guesting and used rider replacement for Chris Harris who was riding in the Grand Prix in Finland.

Eastbourne took the first heat 4-2 and in a twice re-run heat which saw Nielsen excluded, the Eagles took a 5-1.

A 3-3 was followed by Eastbourne taking two 4-2 's and two 5-1's before Hansen took a tactical ride for the Bees in heat seven and finished second in a 4-3 to the Bees in a heat which saw Helsey excluded and Nielsen's bike pack up.

Eastbourne went further in front with two 5-1's either side of a 3-3 to lead 42-19 after ten heats.

That increased with a 4-2 to Eastbourne in heat eleven and by another eight with the Eagles taking two 5-1's in the next two heats.

Hansen did win heat fourteen for a 4-2 to the Bees and heat fifteen in a 3-3 but the Bees went down to a very heavy 61-30. defeat.
